Maldives is a small archipelagic state present in Indian Ocean. It is not a part of India but only present in its ocean.  Maldives is not a single island, it is made up of 26 atolls in total with numerous small islands. It’s capital city is Malé. It’s official language is dhivehi but English is the mostly used language. It’s official currency is Maldivian rufiyaa (MVR). 1 Maldivian rufiyaa is equal to 4.84 Indian rupees. USD (dollars) is also accepted. Most of its country’s revenue comes from its tourism. Best time to visit Maldives is between the months November to April. After April Maldives turns into a hot tub and does not suit for vacationing.

Transportation

You can reach Maldives by an aero plane or by a cruise. But don’t forget to book your tickets several months prior to your trip, because tickets to Maldives are costly. Maldives have 4 international Airports and many domestic airports. To travel between the islands in Maldives, you can choose a domestic flight, public ferry, seaplane or a speedboat. Domestic flights and public ferries are cost effective but takes much time to take you to your destination. Seaplanes and speedboats drop you at the destination faster but are expensive.

Usually Resorts have their own seaplanes and speedboats and they will be waiting for your arrival in the airport itself. But you need to pay extra bucks for that facility. If you don’t want to spend lots of money in just traveling then it’s better to choose a domestic flight or public ferry. A public ferry can be as cheap as Rs.149/- ($2) per person and seaplanes charge you Rs.11,167/- ($150) or more per person to take you to the same destination. If you want to use public transport of Maldives then don’t forget to check the timings of domestic flights and public ferries first and then start booking your flight tickets to Maldives according to it.

Accommodation

Maldives’s tourism was started with just 3 hotels in it and now it consists of more than 100 resorts. Resorts are obviously super costly but the luxury they provide worth spending it. Usually resorts buy a whole island and such islands are called as private islands, no local will live there. Cost of a room in a resort for one person per night can range anywhere between Rs.2000 ($27) to Rs.1,25,000 ($1679). The cost completely depends on the resort and the island you select. On local islands, you’ll find cheap resorts but no water villas. Most of the locals of Maldives live at malé and all other islands are comprised of only tourists and employees working there.

Resorts categorize their rooms according to the price in the following way –

  • Regular hotels rooms which you can find in any tourist place and are the cheapest.
  • Beach-sidevilla, as name suggests present on beach with luxurious amenities like Jacuzzi.
  • Overwater villa, also called as water villa, are the costliest villas in Maldives. They are built over the ocean with infinity pool and sundeck.

Food

Usually in Resorts, the cost of your meals are included in your hotel bill itself but few resorts makes separate bills for food. So don’t forget to check about food before you book your resort room.

Maldives offer you different cuisines at one place that make your mouth water. If you are ready to spend money then you can eat many special food items of different countries in one island. The most popular foods in Maldives are the derivatives of fish, coconuts and starches.

Other amenities

Resorts also provide you spa, gym, tea/coffee-making machine, air conditioning, glass floor panel, free Wi-Fi, ironing service, laundry service, butler service, bar, doctor on call, sunset cruises and many more.

The bottom line

Maldives works great for vacationing, honeymooning and even for water sports. It takes you a step closer to nature. Maldives proves that heaven can be found on earth too. And Maldives is the only place in the world which looks exactly the same way that we find it in pictures. So never miss a chance to visit Maldives anytime.

Cruise – a trip to experience at least once in a lifetime.

Do you like boat rides? But you feel those rides in your nearby lake are too short? Want to sail across the ocean for days? Then this blog is for you. Here you will learn everything about cruises.

What is a cruise? A cruise is a vacation spent on a ship that sails the ocean, periodically stopping at different ports for sightseeing.

Basically a cruise can last from 3 days to 120 days, the latter is seen in world cruises. But 5-7 days cruise is considered as ideal. So plan for a short Cruise trip to make it memorable but not boring.

Cruise ships have evolved enormously in the last few decades. So you don’t need to surprise even when you find a roller coaster on your cruise. Not just a roller-coaster you’ll find raft slides, water flumes that take you to the edge of the ship and brings back on board, bumper cars, Carousel, ziplines and many more. These rides have turned cruises into a floating amusement park.

Apart from these rides, you can also play sports like tennis, basketball, table tennis, etc.

Cruises never compromise on making your trip luxurious. They are evolving very rapidly to provide you world class amenities on water.

Accommodation

Usually Cruises classify rooms into Interior room, Ocean-view room, Balcony room, Suite and they price accordingly. (Names of the rooms may differ depending on the cruise line you select but the amenities are the same.)
• Interior rooms don’t have windows.
• Ocean-view rooms have a small window to peep the ocean.
• Balcony room have a balcony and two extra chairs to relax with a breath-taking view of the ocean.
• Suite is usually bigger than all other rooms with a large balcony.

Before you finish your cruise trip you probably might gain weight because a cruise will have many restaurants with exquisite cuisine and you can’t stop binging.

Gym

Don’t restrict yourself from enjoying that delicious food because the cruise lines understood you well and they have installed gym equipment on board along with the trainers. Few cruises also offer jogging track. And the only thing that you have to do is eat, exercise and enjoy.

Spa

If you simply want to relax your body with the mesmerizing ocean view then you can also opt for a spa session. Yes, they also provide you spa but it may cost you extra bucks.

Night life

At night, live entertainment in the auditorium begins. And that’s not all, after the live event many cruises also offer disco nights at the top deck. Few conduct games for all age groups.

Apart from these you’ll also find bars, casinos, shopping malls, cafés, theatre, live concert at the top deck, indoor and outdoor pools, kids zones and many more.

Internet

In cruises you don’t have internet availability. This helps you to spend more time with your family and ocean. For internet you have to pay the extra bucks to the cruise line which is costlier than the regular internet charges on the land.

Pricing and booking

Many people believe that these cruises are super costly. But that’s not true. Cruises have affordable packages along few costly packages. The price of the packages depends upon the cruise line, distance between starting point and final destination, no. Of days, your room type.

Many cruises include all charges in their package itself but only few cruises charge separately for the on board water rides. So check everything carefully before you book your cruise trip.

You have to book your cruise in their official website as early as possible for extra discount. Cruises can range anywhere between Rs.4000/- ($50) per person, per day to Rs.74000/- ($1000) per person, per day.
